Projects Dr Herzberg's online consultations

A consultation for all of Germany.

27 years in his own practice in Kirchheim unter Teck, now by video: we built the website and booking for Dr Herzberg.

Homepage of diabetologe-online.de: “Your personal online consultation for type 2 diabetes”, next to it an introduction video by Dr Herzberg (the site is in German)
The homepage of the online consultation, captured 22 Sep 2026.
Dr Klaus-Peter Herzberg in a white polo shirt with a stethoscope

More than 30 years as a doctor. Then a new beginning.

Dr Klaus-Peter Herzberg is an internist, angiologist and diabetologist. In 1997 he opened his own practice in Kirchheim unter Teck and ran it for 27 years. At the end of 2024 he handed it over to a successor.

He didn't stop there. Today he looks after people with type 2 diabetes and prediabetes exclusively online: by video, with no waiting room and no app, wherever they live.

His patients rate him 5.0 out of 5 stars on jameda from 44 reviews. Some reviews still mention the practice in Kirchheim.9

His path from 1976 to today, to scale
  1. 1976–1982Studies in Tübingen and Bordeaux
  2. 1989Specialist in internal medicine
  3. 1997Own practice in Kirchheim unter Teck
  4. 2007Additional qualification as a diabetologist
  5. 2024Practice handed over, start of the online consultations

Once one address. Now all of Germany.

Map of Germany: Kirchheim unter Teck as the former practice location, video consultations for the whole country and the six cities with their own page on the website Berlin Hamburg Düsseldorf Cologne Frankfurt Munich Kirchheim unter Teck

The six cities are the regional pages of the website according to its sitemap.xml, accessed 22 Sep 2026. They don't show patient numbers.

  1. 1997–2024

A practice in Kirchheim unter Teck

For 27 years, patients came to the practice on Osianderstraße. Anyone who wanted to see Dr Herzberg came to Kirchheim.

  2. Today

A link instead of a journey

The consultation runs by video, nationwide. An appointment is usually available within 24 hours, including evenings and weekends. No practice on site and no app.

  3. So people can find him

    Separate pages for six cities

Anyone in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, Frankfurt or Düsseldorf searching for diabetes advice finds a page tailored to exactly that search.

What we built.

A website that calmly explains how an online consultation works, what it costs and who you'll be talking to. Plus a booking that works without a phone call.

Section “In three simple steps”: choose your preferred appointment, talk to Dr Herzberg in person, receive the report and documents

Anyone booking answers a few short questions, chooses their preferred time and receives the invoice and access link by email. After the consultation, a written report follows on request; the private prescription comes by post.

Section “Clear prices”: 10 minutes €60, 20 minutes €110, 30 minutes €150, written report €17.43

10 minutes cost €60, 20 minutes €110, 30 minutes €150. Billing is based on a fee agreement under § 2 GOÄ (the German medical fee schedule). Knowing the cost beforehand makes booking feel calmer.

About page: portrait of Dr Klaus-Peter Herzberg and his introduction

Background, qualifications and his approach to diabetes care. Online, trust has to be built before someone books. This page does that.

Measured on 22 Sep 2026

Fast to load. And readable for Google and AI assistants.

We measured the homepage ourselves: fresh browser, no cache, two runs per setting. Once on a fast connection, once throttled like a weak mobile network on an older device.

Until the largest content is visible (Largest Contentful Paint, seconds)1
  • Desktop, fast connection0.84 to 0.97 s
  • Mobile, fast connection0.74 to 0.76 s
  • Desktop, throttled21.94 to 2.26 s
  • Mobile, throttled2.06 to 2.12 s

Even throttled, below the 2.5-second benchmark that Google rates as “good”.8

Nothing jumps while loading
0 to 0.029 layout shift (CLS) on desktop, 0 on mobile. Benchmark: under 0.1.3
Light
969 KB in 20 requests for the whole homepage. On throttled mobile only 601 KB, because images load only when scrolling.4
Few third parties
1 external service on load: the cookieless analytics tool Plausible. Fonts are on the site's own server; the booking calendar only loads after consent.5
Encrypted
HTTPS with redirect and HSTS for one year, including subdomains.6

ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude may read it.

Not every website lets AI assistants in. Here it's set up explicitly: the robots.txt invites the main AI crawlers by name. Its own llms.txt summarises the offer, fees, key pages, eight guide articles and the six city pages so that an assistant can reproduce them correctly.6

  • 19 URLs in the sitemap.xml: 4 key pages, 6 city pages, 8 articles
  • Structured data: physician and medical business, 6 FAQs, 3 fees as offers, 7 forms of therapy7
  • Link previews: title, description and image for Google, WhatsApp and social networks

How we measured
  1. Largest Contentful Paint: Playwright with Chromium, PerformanceObserver “largest-contentful-paint”, cache off, two runs each on 22 Sep 2026. Desktop 1440 px wide, mobile 375 × 812 px at double pixel density. Lab values, not field data from real visitors.
  2. Throttled: Chrome DevTools Protocol with 150 ms latency, 1.6 Mbit/s download, 0.75 Mbit/s upload and 4× CPU throttling.
  3. CLS: PerformanceObserver “layout-shift” without user input, measured until network idle plus 2 seconds, no scrolling, fast and throttled runs, 22 Sep 2026.
  4. Transfer: sum of bytes transferred and number of requests according to the Chrome DevTools Protocol, cache off, until network idle plus 2 seconds. Desktop throttled: 926 KB in 19 requests; mobile throttled: 601 KB in 17 requests.
  5. Third-party hosts: recording of all requests when loading the homepage, fees and About pages; consent logic according to the privacy policy, 22 Sep 2026.
  6. HTTPS, HSTS, robots.txt, llms.txt and sitemap.xml: retrieved directly on 22 Sep 2026. HSTS: max-age=31536000; includeSubDomains.
  7. Structured data: analysis of the JSON-LD blocks on the homepage (Physician, MedicalBusiness, WebSite, FAQPage, OfferCatalog), 22 Sep 2026.
  8. Benchmarks according to Google's Core Web Vitals: LCP up to 2.5 seconds and CLS below 0.1 count as “good”.
  9. jameda reviews according to Dr Herzberg's website, as of August 2026, accessed 22 Sep 2026.

The figures will follow. On purpose.

The new website is still young. Google, Bing and AI assistants need a few weeks to find, read and rank new pages.

Anyone showing figures after two weeks is mostly showing chance. A fair comparison is possible after about 90 days. Until then we publish no estimates – and afterwards only what Dr Herzberg approves.

  1. Weeks 1–4Search engines and AI crawlers find and read the pages.
  2. until about day 60The pages are ranked, first search queries appear.
  3. from day 90Enough data for an honest comparison.

Then we'll show here:

  • Bookingsvia the websiteto follow
  • enquiriesby email and WhatsAppto follow
  • Visibilityin Google and AI answersto follow

What runs in the background. And what can be added.

Runs today, with every booking

  1. Choose an appointmentA few short questions, then the preferred time. The Cal.com calendar only loads after consent.
  2. Payment after the appointmentThe invoice comes after the consultation. That keeps billing within the rules for doctors.
  3. Invoice and linkArrive by email after booking, as described in the process on the website.
  4. Consultation by videoVia Whereby, servers in the European Economic Area.
  5. Report and prescriptionThe report by email on request, the private prescription by post.

Can be connected

  • Reminder before the appointmentBy email or WhatsApp, so fewer appointments are forgotten.
  • Invoices into the accountsEvery payment lands, with its receipt, where the tax adviser needs it.
  • Review requestA friendly note after the consultation, no pressure.
  • Monthly overviewBookings, revenue and utilisation at a glance.

These building blocks are not part of the state shown here. We connect them when a practice needs them.

What Dr Herzberg says about working together

“My website had to be rebuilt because the previous site only looked good — but brought in no customers. […] Answers to questions came quickly and were precise. […] I was impressed by the knowledge he could draw on so readily to improve the website's functionality.”
